SummitPath Educational Solutions was founded by Dr. David Tell, a sitting school principal and instructional leader with extensive experience strengthening teacher practice, expanding instructional capacity, and supporting measurable school improvement.
Having served as a teacher, assistant principal, principal, and regional content leader across multiple states and school systems, Dr. Tell brings a practitioner’s perspective to every partnership — grounded not in theory, but in the daily realities schools face.
He founded SummitPath after years of leading within complex educational environments and recognizing a persistent challenge: the teachers schools depend on most — particularly in specialized content areas — often lack the sustained instructional support required for long-term success.
Dr. Tell’s approach centers on embedded, practical coaching that strengthens instruction without adding burden to already stretched leadership teams. His work is shaped by the belief that effective coaching must be context-aware, immediately actionable, and capable of building internal capacity that endures beyond the engagement itself.
Unlike traditional consultants removed from day-to-day school operations, Dr. Tell remains actively immersed in the work of instructional leadership. This proximity allows SummitPath to deliver strategies that are realistic, responsive, and aligned to the operational demands of modern schools.
Dr. Tell earned his Doctor of Education in Learning and Organizational Change from Baylor University, where his research examined how students develop civic identity through meaningful civic action — reinforcing his long-held conviction that growth accelerates when individuals are given voice, purpose, and intentional support.
